El Senador is located in the oldest part of Madrid – Madrid de los Austrias – opposite the Senate and close to the Royal Palace. It specialises in traditional Castilian food, most notably roast suckling pig and lamb. There is also a wide variety of starters, seasonal vegetables and fish dishes as well as a selection of home made deserts. The traditional decor matches the menu with burnished terracotta floors, original wooden beams and Castilian wrought iron lighting. There is a good selection of wines from the main wine producing areas in Spain.
