Ifema, Madrid's Trade FairIFEMA is Madrid's Trade Fair organisation, founded by the Autonomous Community of Madrid, the City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce and Cajamadrid. Although fairs and exhibitions are actually held in 2 locations, it is the "Campo de las Naciones" business area close to the airport that most people think of when referring to IFEMA (the other IFEMA convention area as at the Casa de Campo). The Campo de Naciones business area includes the Juan Carlos I park, where 12 large convention halls currently hold Madrid's most important trade fairs, such as FITUR (tourism), SIMO (Information Technology), ARCO (contemporary art), Salón del Automóbil (car fair) and SIMA (real estate).

This area of Madrid has been much developed and invested in over the last few years and it is now possible for visitors to the trade fairs to find good accommodation close by. Hotels cater for business visitors with free Internet wi-fi connections and the option to rent tourist apartments is also available.
